Learning Observed
|
This term our focus is on how we can be capable citizens. In order to launch this the learners participated in a capable iExplore on Being Sunsmart where they collaboratively explored and brainstormed ideas about what being sunsmart is all about. The lasting understanding from this iExplore was that we can be connected in a variety of ways and display these connections by predicting and processing what the steps are in beings sunsmart. It was great to see the learners supporting each other in being curious and deciding how to be sunsmart and hear them describe their ways of being sunsmart as an example of how we can recall and connect with others. All of the learners displayed their capabilities by working with a buddy on their own sunsmart presentation. The presentations can be found on the learner’s Google Drive.

Learning Area: Narrative Learning story

Learning Observed
|
During iDevelop Jessica was curious to learn about how to write similes using things of different kind. Jessica and Amy mentioned that they first thought of a learner’s name and then they compared the learner with the trait of an animal or a thing. All this has helped them to write similes about different learners. They worked collaboratively with each other to explore the ways of creating similes. Jessica displayed her capability by using her thinking ability and observation skills to write similes on different learners.
