Today during our ‘Developmental’ session, Jessica and Kiko were working together to construct a building with the Duplo blocks. As the building took shape, they talked about what they wanted to put where, as well as how they wanted the building to look. There was discussion about how to group the colours for the curved edged and how many blocks to put on the top.

Jessica and Kiko were very pleased with the finished result of their building.

Key Competencies/Vision Principles
|
Jessica collaborated with a partner to design and create this building. She demonstrated capability when problems arose, e.g. blocks didn’t fit properly or her chosen block had already been used. Jessica was ‘Managing Self’ to work independently with a partner to complete an activity and pack away the materials when she had finished.

Today in iExperience we were learning about the Frog life cycle. We watched a movie showing the eggs being laid, then turning into tadpoles, then turning into frogs, then the adult frogs laying eggs again. Once the movie was finished the Learners demonstrated their understanding of the life cycle by cutting out pictures of eggs, a tadpole, a frog and arrows and arranging them on their page. We also discussed how there are tadpoles in LH4 and that these came from eggs and would turn into frogs.

Jessica demonstrated her understanding by arranging the parts in the circle shape.

Key Competencies/Vision Principles
|
Jessica showed her Capabilities by creating the Life Cycle. She was able to complete the task without any Learning Coach guidance (Managing Self). Jessica used the arrows to complete her diagram (Using Language, Symbols and Texts). She demonstrated her understanding of the life cycle in the positions of the different aspects of the life cycle (Thinking).
